It started on a Monday night in 2024.
On a Monday night in March, new Portsmouth resident Troy Farkas hosted a live version of self-improvement podcast The Found Generation at The Music Hall Lounge in Portsmouth, N.H. 75 Seacoast residents came to watch the show (which featured interviews with 3 Bridges Yoga’s Stephanie Paolini and LANEY & LU’s Jennifer Wilder). They all showed up, despite never having heard of this podcast.
Inspired by the community’s desire to hear local stories, Troy felt called to fill a gaping hole in the local news coverage. Taking his podcasting and storytelling experience from his seven years of producing some of the biggest podcasts in the world at ESPN and Spotify, Troy launched Seacoast Stories June 2024.
The weekly show instantly took off, with live events quickly becoming a staple of the “Seacoast Stories” offerings, as proven by sold-out live podcasts at The Press Room (Portsmouth, N.H.) in January 2025, The Word Barn (Exeter, N.H.) in June 2025, and soon after, the popular monthly event entitled Seacoast Stories Dinner Club.
